In May 2015, (DG) hosted legendary director Robert Woodruff, who spent the weekend with 6 local directors working on intense scenes from Euripides and Sophocles. Robert’s unique focus on presence in the room and creating a landscape within which actors can explore the extremes of human experience opened the participants to profound new ideas and great freedom in the work. Much thanks to the University of the Arts for providing space to local artists for enrichment and continued learning. (DG) also hired 12 local actors to participate in the directors’ work and benefit from Woodruff’s expertise.
